Ingeniería InversaReverse engineering is a process by which an object is taken separately to see how it works in order to duplicate or improve it.

Although this practice was used by the old industries, today its use has spread to software and hardware, in which case, reverse engineering applied to software involves the reversal of a program that is coded in machine language (low level language ) to the high-level source code which was originally written.

Reverse engineering in software aims to recover the source code of a program that needs to be corrected, improved or studied to be written again and that does not have its original source.

We must make it clear that the reverse engineering of software that aims to study the duplicate or commercial purposes, including the use of reverse engineer a product to study and do this based on a competing product, can be considered as a violation of copyright laws and in many cases, the use of a licensed program prohibits this practice. In the case of reverse engineering hardware, we resort to removing a device intended to see how it works, but as happens in reverse engineering software, here also prohibited to do this with the intent to manufacture a similar product.

Another type of reverse engineering is to playback 3D images and manufactured parts when you do not have a plan and in order to condition the piece carried.

Continuing the theme, in the following publication we will be able to know some Programs for Reverse Engineering in Information Systems.
